We will have 6th Grade Open House on August 7th from 9:00-3:00. Sixth grade students and parents are welcome to stop by at any time. Parent Representative needed for Danville Board of Education Superintendent Screening Committee

The Danville Board of Education is currently conducting a search for a new superintendent. The regulation requires that the Board have a screening committee. One of the members of that committee must be a parent representative. The district will be accepting nominations for a parent representative to serve on the screening committee. Bate Forensics competes in Anchor Invitational

Five Bate Wrestlers Qualify for Region!

Bate is District 61 Quick Recall Champions!

Spanish Club

Spanish club will meet September 4th until 4:30pm in room 301 in Mr. Reed's room. We will be holding elections for president, vice-president, secretary and Public relations Officer. If you plan on running for office, come prepared with a short speech about why you should hold the position, ideas that you have for fundraisers, field trips, volunteer activities, etc. We will be meeting the First and Third Wednesday of every month. Spanish club will focus on Hispanic culture through projects, field trips, discussions, movies, cultural celebrations, etc. We will also be involved in volunteer activities.  READ MORE...
Bate an Exemplar School

Watch to Exemplary. The Danville Kentucky, district that is home to Bate Middle School, turned 100 last year. When Bate originally opened, it was all African American and went through high school. The school was integrated in 1973. "Eight years ago this school was on the state watch list." said superintendent Carmen Coleman. This month The Partnership for 21st Century Schools named Bate an Exemplar School. Coleman said, "They've come a long, long way!"   READ MORE...

Welcome to Bate!

I hope that everyone is just as excited as I am about the 2013-14 school year! In the last two years Bate has accomplished many incredible things. We have been featured on KET’s Education Matters and PBS’ News Hour, developed an engineering pathway for our students, and have even helped some of our engineering students put Danville literally on the map by having their projects accepted by Google maps. On top of all of this, we earned part of the Gates’ Next Generation Learning Challenges grant, added new clubs such as Pets & Paws and Maker Faire, have increased project-based learning opportunities, and have developed an innovation plan that will ensure nothing short of an incredible experience for everyone.  READ MORE...
